Why take a DNA test in San Antonio?

A prenatal DNA paternity test in San Antonio provides answers during pregnancy. Our technically – advanced , non invasive test is AABB accredited, accurate, can be performed as early as 7 weeks, and is completely safe for the mother and pregnancy. It consists of a small blood draw and cheek swabs from the potential father. This is taken using 4 different painless swabs one for each side of the mouth and takes about a minute.

How does non invasive pre natal testing work?

  1. A sample is collected from the mother with a simple blood draw, and sample is collected from the possible father using a cheek swab.
  2. Both samples are then sent to the lab for analysis
  3. The test analyzes free-floating fetal sample from the mother’s plasma and compares it to the mother’s own profile
  4. Once the fetus’s profile is determined, that profile is then compared to the possible father’s and paternity can be determined
  5. Results for the test are generally returned in about one (1) week, once testing has begun. If the man tested is determined not to be the biological father, then the report shows a 0% probability of paternity. If the man tested is considered to be the biological father, the report shows a 99% or greater probability of paternity.

Peek a Boo Early Gender Detection

Finding out the gender of your baby is exciting and with peekaboo’s early gender DNA test you can discover the answers up to 13 weeks earlier than the typical ultra sound. At ddc, they use the most exacting scientific approach using just a small blood sample, to determine the sex of your baby with over 99% accuracy—the highest available.

How does your blood sample become a boy or a girl DNA test result? During pregnancy, fetal genetic information is released by the placenta into mom’s bloodstream. Peek a boo tests for male chromosomes are found in mom’s blood. Moms normally have only female chromosomes, so if a male chromosome are detected in the fetus, baby is a boy, if no male chromosomes are detected, baby is a girl.

Paternity Testing—Legal or Non Legal

(Peace of mind testing)

A- Standard Trio

When mother, child and alleged father are available this is our most popular DNA test. The mother’s participation in the DNA test helps to exclude half of the child, leaving the other half for the comparison with the alleged father’s. If there is one or more candidates for alleged fathers separate appointment times are encouraged.

B- Motherless Testing

In this DNA test when the mother is not included, it is referred to as a motherless DNA test. Although it is helpful not always necessary to include the mother’s sample. The best possible results will be achieved when the mother is included. However we understand that sometimes a male needs to know the answer to a DN test in private and does not want to share his suspicion, or the fact that he is performing the test, with the mother.

Under these circumstances, the male will have to test without the mother. This DNA test follows a chain of custody, which will provide you with court admissible document that can be used for child support, custody, changing the name of the birth certificate, etc. The DNA test results will provide a rate of inclusion of 99.99% and exclude the alleged father as the biological one by 100%.

The most common type of profiling today for criminal cases and other types of forensic uses is called “STR” (short tandem repeat) analysis. Short Tandem Repeat (STR) analysis is a common molecular biology method used to compare allele repeats at specific loci in DNA between two or more samples. THIS IS A TEST THAT ARE FOR INDIVIDUAL TESTING.

Y-STR testing determines whether two males share the same paternal lineage. The Y-STR paternal lineage DNA test is based on the fact that the Y chromosome is passed from father to son relatively unchanged through many generations. Only males can undergo Y-STR testing because females do not possess a Y chromosome.

Y-STR paternal lineage testing determines whether or not Y-STR markers are or are not consistent with the conclusion that the tested males may be related through a common male ancestor. Y-STR analysis cannot distinguish a specific relationship between males who belong to the same paternal line. However, it can be useful for excluding males from an alleged biological relationship,

GPS Origins® is a revolutionary test that enables you to trace your family history based on mixture events that began over 1,000 years ago. It provides maternal and paternal migration routes with precision targeting—sometimes down to the village or town. Current tests used for genealogy locate where fragments of you were formed within countries or continents. Typically you find that some of your ancestors come from Western Europe, Africa, or South Asia, and you are given broad estimates of ethnicity.

This type of DNA test generally cannot identify a radius of your origins to particular locations with longitude and latitude and it defines your ancestry using the modern-day population names. GPS Origins overcomes the limitations of these tests by using a new ancestral tracking technique that leverages unique markers to pinpoint specific places where your genetic information was formed. These markers were carefully selected to inform us of the particular routes your ancestors took.

Pinpoint your DNA!

Using a sample you provide through a simple cheek swab, our qualified laboratory tests more than 80,000 unique genetic markers. Cross-checking that information across dozens of gene pools and more than 1,000 reference populations, we use it to create a detailed report about where your family originated and how your own unique signature migrated over time. This can help you answer questions about your family’s history, shed light on the origins of certain family traits, and help you better understand who you are.

This advanced autosomal DNA test is so targeted, it may even indicate the town or village where groups of your ancestors from different cultures met—building a vibrant picture of the migration journeys that formed your deep genealogical heritage.

  • New ancestral tracking technique pinpoints your genetic genealogy
  • 80,000 autosomal genetic markers tested, 1,000+ reference populations and 41 gene pools analyzed
  • Simple and painless cheek swab to collect your sample
  • Highly-accredited lab with privacy-protected service and expert staff; your sample is not sent to a third-party lab

Forensic DNA Testing

A- Post-mortem DNA Testing

A-Post-mortem samples can be obtained from tissues of the deceased, such as blood, hair, or other preserved tissue samples. We offer viability  testing of postmortem samples to determine whether a tissue sample contains enough sample for a paternity test when the father is missing, deceased, or otherwise unavailable. A paternity test can then be performed to compare the viable sample with that of the possible.
